The Administrative Office of the Courts Criminal Practice Division provides support to all local criminal division judges and staff. It consists of the Pretrial Services Unit and the Court Services Unit.

The Pretrial Services Unit oversees the statewide implementation of Criminal Justice Reform. The unit provides support and training to judges, managers and the court staff in the pretrial services unit in each vicinage through development of statewide standards and guidelines, technical support, and centralization of administrative activities such as statistical analysis.

The Court Services Unit generally tracks and reports on case movement, provides training to vicinage staff and judges, monitors compliance with statewide case processing standards, and responds to general public inquiries. It also compiles and distributes sample criminal jury charges, or instructions judges provide to juries, and provides training on all matters related to sentencing.
