Appeals to Appellate Division and Hearing Transcripts
If you are dissatisfied with a Tax Court decision, you may appeal to the Appellate Division of Superior Court. Your notice of appeal to the Appellate Division must be filed within 45 days of the date of the Tax Court decision. Additional information and Appellate Division forms and instructions are available on the New Jersey Courts webpage - www.njcourts.gov - under Self-Help Center or by calling the Appellate Division Clerk's Office at Phone: 609-815-2950
To request, at your cost, a copy of your case transcript for use with an appeal, you must:
- 1. Contact a certified transcriber. A list of certified transcribers is available at http://www.njcourts.gov/courts/assets/appellate/certtranscriberlst.pdf or from the Appellate Division Clerk's Office
- 2. Use the Appellate Division Court Transcript Request form and provide the selected transcriber with the docket number(s), the assigned judge name, case caption(s) and the dates of the hearings for the decision you wish to appeal.
- 3. Provide any deposits/payments for the production of a transcript to the certified transcriber. Do not send your deposit to the court.
- 4. The transcriber will contact the assigned judge's chambers and arrange to complete the transcript.
