Notice – Superior Court Trust Fund – Money on Deposit that is Scheduled to Escheat to the State in 2026

SUPERIOR COURT TRUST FUND -MONEY ON DEPOSIT THAT IS SCHEDULED TO ESCHEAT TO THE STATE IN 2026 

          This notice serves as a public announcement that certain Superior Court Trust Fund balances will transfer to the State by September 30, 2026 pursuant to N.J.S.A. 46:30B-41. All funds that remain on deposit with the Superior Court Trust Fund for a period of 10 years with no activity shall be presumed abandoned and must escheat to the State's Treasury Unclaimed Property Administration (see N.J.S.A. 46:30B-41). 

          Attached to this Notice is a list of matters (listed by docket number) with funds on deposit that are scheduled to escheat to the State in 2026 pursuant to that statute unless affirmative action is taken to claim the funds. 

          To withdraw funds from the Superior Court Trust Fund, a party must submit a proposed form of order to the Trust Fund Unit for verification pursuant to R. 4:57-2. Once the order has been verified, the party must file a motion with the appropriate court, seeking execution of the verified form of order upon showing adequate pr<:>0f that the funds sought to be withdrawn belong to the filing party.
