Directive #03-25 - Family - New Forms - (1) Order Appointing Guardian ad Litem for Minor(s) Pursuant to R. 5:8B (CN 13322) and (2) Protective Order for Guardian ad Litem Report (CN 13323)

          This Directive promulgates for statewide use two new forms to be used in all Family dockets when the court appoints a guardian ad litem (GAL) for minor children: (1) "Order Appointing Guardian ad Litem for Minor(s) Pursuant to R. 5:8B" (CN 13322) and (2) "Protective Order for Guardian ad Litem Report" (CN 13323).

          The new form appointment order ensures consistent and uniform GAL appointments and sets forth (1) the role and responsibilities of the GAL; (2) the scope of the GAL' s rep01i; and (3) the payment arrangements for GAL' s to be compensated. The new protective order sets forth how the report will be released to attorneys and the parties and limits disclosure of the report to ensure confidentiality.
