Notice and Order - Special Civil Part - New Online “SCP Collection Module"; Relaxation of Court Rule 6:7 ("Process to Enforce Judgments")

Effective February 1, 2024, creditors and debtors will be able to view the status of collections on Special Civil Part (SCP) judgments through a new "SCP Collection Module" in eCourts. The module will show the amounts collected by SCP Officers each month, enabling the debtor and creditor to view each entry and to track the total amount left to be paid on the debt. In addition, each entry by a SCP Officer will generate an email to the judgment debtor, the judgment creditor, and the SCP Officer showing the status of collections.

The Supreme Court in the attached December 21, 2023 Order has relaxed Court Rule 6:7 ("Process to Enforce Judgments") to establish the reporting requirements necessary for the new SCP Collection Module.  The Court's action advances its commitment, set out in the fourth installment of its Action Plan for Ensuring Equal Justice, to refine court processes involving financial obligations, including to improve transparency for court users.

Questions on the Court's December 21, 2023 Order and the SCP Collection Module should be directed to the AOC Civil Practice Division at 609-815-2900 x54900.
