The Supreme Court has scheduled an in-person public hearing on Supreme Court Committee reports for Monday, May 18, 2026. The hearing, which will be in the Supreme Court courtroom in the Hughes Justice Complex in Trenton, will begin at 10:00 a.m. It will cover the 2024-2026 reports from the following two committees that were previously published and posted for comment by notice to the bar dated January 28, 2026:
- Civil Practice Committee
- Tax Court Committee
The hearing also will cover the Midcycle Report from the 2025-2027 Committee on the Rules of Evidence on N.J.R.E. 702 ("Testimony by Experts") that was published and posted for comment by notice to the bar dated March 4, 2026.
Those reports and recommendations are posted on the Judiciary's Internet website at https://www.njcourts.gov/attorneys/supreme-court-committee-reports.
Anyone who wishes to speak at the May 18 hearing should so indicate via email sent to by Friday, May 8, 2026. The request must specify the report and recommendations on which the individual seeks to speak and whether the speaker will be representing an organization. Please note that the time limit for each speaker's presentation will be five minutes.
The hearing will be live streamed. For those wishing to view the hearing, a link will be posted on the front page of the Judiciary website on the morning of the hearing (https://www.njcourts.gov).
