Notice - Midcycle Report from the 2025-2027 Supreme Court Committee on the Rules of Evidence on N.J.R.E. 702 ("Testimony by Experts")

This note publishes the March 2026 midcycle report from the 2025-2027 Supreme Court Committee on the Rules of Evidence on the Committee's careful consideration of whether New Jersey Rule of Evidence 702 ("Testimony by Experts") should be amended to model Federal Rule of Evidence 702. The Committee's recommendation is not to amend N.J.R.E. 702 to model F.R.E. 702. The Supreme Com1 invites comments on the Committee's report and recommendation

The Committee's report is attached and also is available for review and downloading at https://www.njcourts.gov/attorneys/supreme-court-committee-reports.
