OFFICE OF ATTORNEY ETHICS OFFERS NO-COST VIRTUAL CLE PROGRAM ON FUNDAMENTALS OF TRUST AND BUSINESS ACCOUNTING TUESDAY, MAY 19, 2026 AT 12:30 P.M.
The Office of Attorney Ethics (OAE) in observance of National Accounting Day will offer a free virtual real-time continuing legal education (CLE) program on the fundamentals for trust and business accounting.
The program will take place via Zoom Webinar on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (EDT) and will offer 1.0 credit in ethics/professionalism through the Judiciary Diversity, Inclusion & Community Engagement Program (Provider #1720).
First Assistant Ethics Counsel Jason Saunders and OAE Chief of Investigations Alison Picione will present the program with introductory remarks by Supreme Court Clerk Heather Joy Baker. The program will include an overview of attorney trust and business accounting responsibilities such as basic trust and business accounting requirements, attorney responsibilities under Rule 1:21-6 and R.P.C. 1.15, the elements of negligent and knowing misappropriation, and the range of resources available to assist attorneys in meeting trust and accounting obligations.
