Notice – Special Civil Part Officers: Administrative Directive #05-25 – Policies and Procedures; Revised Notice to Debtor (Rules Appendix VI)

Administrative Directive #05-25, published with this notice and as approved by the Supreme Court, promulgates revisions to the policies and procedures governing the relationship between the Judiciary and Special Civil Part Officers (Officers). The Officers are independent contractors of the Judiciary who serve process and collect on judgments in the Special Civil Part. Directive #05-25, which is effective immediately, supersedes Administrative Directive #01-15 and all supplements to that directive. The new Directive redefines Officer titles and roles, modifies operational requirements for the handling of writs and collections reporting, modifies bonding requirements, incorporates new responsibilities for review of Officers' writ reports and monthly bank reconciliations, imposes additional requirements for Officers upon discontinuation of their appointment, uses gender neutral language, and incorporates references to modem technology.

This Notice also promulgates revisions adopted by the Supreme Court to Appendix VI of the Rules of Court ("Notice to Debtor")(CN 10821) so as to include information on the form regarding the availability of the status of judgments on the J~diciary's website. The revised form, which also is published with this Notice, is effective September 30, 2025 as well.
