Notice – Supreme Court Action on 2026 Budgets of the Attorney Disciplinary and Regulatory System Entities and Approval of Annual Attorney Assessment for 2026

The Supreme Court by notice dated October 24, 2025 requested comments on the proposed budgets for 2026 for the following attorney disciplinary and regulatory entities that derive their funding, in part, from annual attorney registration payments:

  • The Disciplinary Oversight Committee (DOC), which funds both the Office of Attorney Ethics and the Office of Board Counsel;
  • The Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection (CPF);
  • The Lawyers Assistance Program (LAP);
  • The Board on Continuing Legal Education (CLE); and
  • The Board of Bar Examiners (BBE).

This notice advises as to the Court's action on those proposed budgets and on the resulting annual attorney registration fee for 2026 after having reviewed the proposed budgets and the comments received.

The Court has determined that the annual registration fee for 2026 will remain at the same $267 (for attorneys admitted five through forty-nine years) as for 2024 and 2025. As in prior years, attorneys will pay a reduced amount in their first four years of practice.
