Effective January 2, 2001, Union County regular special civil part summonses and complaints will be served
simultaneously by certified mail, return receipt requested, and ordinary mail in accordance with Rule 6:2-3 (d).
Personal service of initial process by court officer will not be performed after January 2, 2001, and mileage fees will no
longer be collected. In place of the fees normally paid for mileage, plaintiffs should remit $4.00 for each defendant to
be served by mail. Other filing fees remain unchanged.
Landlord/tenant summonses and complaints will continue to be served personally by court officer and by regular mail,
pursuant to Rule 6:2-3 (b). The fee for same has not changed.
