Hudson Vicinage to Host 30th Recovery Court Graduation

The Hudson Vicinage will hold its 30th graduation ceremony for its recovery court program on Wednesday, Dec. 14 during a hybrid ceremony.

The event will formally acknowledge 17 participants who have successfully completed the requirements of the program. Assignment Judge Jeffrey Jablonski and Recovery Court Judge Maureen B. Mantineo will address the graduates, family, friends and supporters.
Carlos Rodriguez, a recovery court graduate and a member of the Hudson County Recovery Court Alumni Group, will be the keynote speaker. A member of the Hudson Vicinage Judiciary Choir will perform.

The Judiciary’s recovery court program operates within the Superior Court to address non-violent drug addicted offenders. The program requires completion of four phases of intensive drug and alcohol treatment and recovery. This level of supervision permits the program to support the recovery process but also allows the team to react swiftly to impose appropriate therapeutic interventions or to reinstate criminal proceedings when participants do not comply with the program.

Graduates will have attained a minimum of one year of continuous sobriety and have maintained gainful employment throughout their participation in the program. A majority of the graduates are successfully earning or are working toward earning their general equivalency or high school diploma, and higher educational degrees, as well as satisfying their court-imposed financial obligations.

The vicinage’s drug court program was established in 2004.
