Morris/Sussex Vicinage to Hold 10th Annual Military Appreciation Ceremony

The Morris/Sussex Vicinage will recognize employees who have served in the U.S. military at its 10th annual military appreciation ceremony on Thursday, June 1 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the historic courtroom on the second floor of the Morris County Courthouse, 10 Court St., Morristown.

Assignment Judge Stuart A. Minkowitz, Trial Court Administrator Susan Chait and Morris County Veterans Services will recognize vicinage judges and employees for their military service.

The featured speaker will be retired U.S. Navy Lt. Glenn T. Gavan, who is the municipal court judge for Wantage, Stillwater, Sussex, Branchville, Ogdensburg, Mount Olive, Netcong, Chester Township, Chester Borough, and Mendham Township.

The Morris County Sheriff’s Honor Guard will present the colors. Music will be provided by Keith Wood, bagpiper from Morris County-based Rory O’Moore School of Pipes and Drums. Superior Court Judge Michael Paul Wright will sing “God Bless America” to close the program.

The ceremony is open to the public and reservations are not required. The event will be livestreamed at https://www.njcourts.gov/public/channels.html under the Morris/Sussex tab.
