Passaic Vicinage to Celebrate Law Day

The Passaic Vicinage will celebrate Law Day on Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m. in the commissioners meeting room on the second floor of the Passaic County Administration Building, 401 Grand St., Paterson.

This year’s Law Day theme is, “Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration.”

Former Gov. Jim McGreevey, executive director of the New Jersey Reentry Corp., will give the keynote address. Following the presentation, the dance team from Passaic County Technical Institute will perform.

Members of the winning high school mock trial competitions, as well as middle and high school students who participated in the county-wide poetry, poster, video, and photography contests will be treated to a pizza lunch. All students will be recognized for their contributions to this year’s program.

The Law Day Program is sponsored by the Passaic Vicinage Law Day Committee, which includes members from the vicinage, the Passaic County Bar Association, and the vicinage’s Committee on Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement.

Law Day is a national event established by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1958 as a “day of national dedication to the principles of government under the law.”
