Rhonda Berliner-Gold Named Assistant Director of Human Resources

Rhonda Berliner-Gold has been named the assistant director of human resources, effective Oct. 21, Glenn A. Grant, administrative director of the courts, announced today.

Berliner-Gold has held the position in an acting capacity since August.

“From the recruitment and hiring of staff to the management of performance, the human resources division plays an integral role throughout the development of the careers of our employees. Ms. Berliner-Gold brings a wealth of knowledge and two decades of experience to a position that is critical to the success of the Judiciary in its service to the citizens of New Jersey,” Director Grant said.

Berliner-Gold will oversee the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures as well as recruitment, classification, compensation, performance management, benefits, and labor and employee relations functions for nearly 9,000 Judiciary employees. She also will be responsible for human resources information systems and organizational development and training.

Berliner-Gold’s entire career with the Judiciary has been in human resources. She joined the Judiciary in 2003, working in the labor and employee relations unit until her promotion to chief of that unit in 2021.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to lead this division full of talented people, and I look forward to continuing to serve the Judiciary in this new role,” Berliner-Gold said.

Before joining the Judiciary, Berliner-Gold, a resident of East Brunswick, worked as a deputy attorney general for the state Department of Law and Public Safety for 10 years.

After earning her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, Berliner-Gold obtained her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City.
