Mercer Vicinage to Host Naturalization Ceremony

The Mercer Vicinage will hold its first naturalization ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 8 in the ceremonial courtroom on the fourth floor of the Mercer County Criminal Courthouse, 400 S. Warren St., Trenton.

Superior Court Judge Sherry L. Wilson will administer the Oath of Citizenship to 24 new citizens from 17 countries during the ceremony.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard will present the colors of the flag for the Pledge of Allegiance, which will be recited by Sheriff’s Officer Tara Hendryx. Ziare Bellamy, a vicinage employee, will sing the national anthem.

Assignment Judge Robert Lougy will give opening remarks and family law attorney Carolyn Chang will give the keynote remarks.

Keith Dorr, director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office in Mount Laurel, will present the applicants prior to the oath.

Judges Lougy and Wilson along with Dorr will present certificates to the new citizens.

Bellamy will close the ceremony with a musical tribute.
