Passaic Vicinage to Hold Recovery Court Graduation

The Passaic Vicinage will hold a graduation ceremony for 25 participants of its recovery court on Wednesday, May 14 at 9:30 a.m. in ceremonial courtroom 222 of the Passaic County Courthouse, 71 Hamilton St., Paterson.

Recovery Court Judge Imre Karaszegi Jr. will preside. Assignment Judge Rudolph A. Filko will address the graduates.

James Johansen, a Paterson native and recovery lecturer, will give the keynote address.

The Judiciary’s recovery court program operates within the Superior Court to address non-violent drug related cases. The program requires completion of several phases of intensive drug and alcohol treatment and recovery. Recovery court programs are rigorous, requiring intensive probation supervision, treatment, frequent drug testing, and regular court appearances.

The vicinage’s recovery court program has 262 participants.

To learn more about the vicinage’s recovery court program or the commencement ceremony, contact vicinage Recovery Court Coordinator Adrien Byrd at 973-653-2910, ext. 24377.
