Camden Recovery Court to Celebrate Graduation
The Camden Vicinage will celebrate the graduation of 29 participants from its recovery court program on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. in courtroom 63 at the Camden County Hall of Justice, 101 S. 5th St, Camden, Assignment Judge Steven J. Polansky announced today.
Superior Court Judge John S. Kennedy will preside. Marisa Valletta, a recovery court graduate, will give the keynote address. Steven Salinger, president of the Camden County Bar Foundation, will present a scholarship to a graduate who has excelled in the program. Speakers will include Assistant Camden County Prosecutor Greg Audino, Assistant Deputy Public Defenders Rachel Carlson and Britt Kessler, and members of the Recovery Court Alumni Association of Camden and Burlington counties.
The Judiciary’s recovery court program, which addresses nonviolent, addicted offenders, requires completion of phases of intensive drug and alcohol treatment and recovery while under court supervision.
The vicinage’s recovery court program, which began in 1996, has 536 participants and has graduated 1,099 participants.
