Hudson Vicinage to Celebrate National Adoption Day

The Hudson Vicinage will host its annual Adoption Day celebration on Friday, Nov. 21 at 9 a.m. at the Hudson County Administration Building, 595 Newark Ave, Jersey City.

The vicinage will host the event along with the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency and the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Hudson County.

Assignment Judge David B. Katz, Family Division Presiding Judge Tara Schillari Rich, and Family Division Judge Stevie Chambers will finalize the adoptions of three children who will be welcomed into their forever families.

The children and their families will be treated to breakfast and a meet-and-greet with the judges. In addition to the breakfast, gifts will be provided to all children adopted this year.

National Adoption Day is an annual event to promote awareness of the value of adoptive families for children in foster care.

Although adoptions are closed to the public, reporters may request to interview willing families after the adoption proceedings have concluded. For more information, contact Makeeya Smith at 201-748-4400, ext. 60569.
