Naglaa Elsayed Appointed Deputy Clerk of the Tax Court
The New Jersey Supreme Court has appointed Naglaa Elsayed as deputy clerk of the Tax Court effective Jan. 15, Tax Court Presiding Judge Mala Sundar and Tax Court Clerk Jeffrey Gallus announced today.
Elsayed succeeds Lynne Allsop, a trusted and respected resource who served the Tax Court for 32 years before retiring Nov. 1.
“Naglaa Elsayed has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service and proven leadership throughout her career with the Judiciary,” Judge Sundar said. “Her depth of institutional knowledge and dedication to excellence will continue to support the Tax Court’s important work.”
As deputy clerk, Elsayed will work closely with the clerk of the Tax Court and court leadership to support administrative operations and ensure the effective delivery of court services. The deputy clerk assists in overseeing daily court operations and supports the clerk in the management of personnel, procedures, and court administration.
Elsayed began her Judiciary career in 2010 as an hourly employee with the Tax Court. Within a year, she was promoted to team leader, a position she held for 14 years, supervising case management staff, coordinating cases and calendars with judges and chambers staff, and working with the Committee of Vicinage Coordinators of Interpreting Services to coordinate requests for interpreting services for the Tax Court.
Elsayed earned her law degree from the University of Alexandria in Egypt. After law school, she practiced criminal law for her family’s law firm, Elsayed Abouelsaud, in Egypt for 18 months before immigrating to the United States. Prior to her Judiciary service, she served as executive legal manager for an IT service company in New Jersey.
“I am honored by this tremendous opportunity to continue building on the strong foundation Lynne established,” Elsayed said. “This is a new era for Tax Court, and I am excited to be a part of it. I look forward to working alongside Presiding Judge Sundar and Jeffrey to further advance the Court’s mission and to continue providing high-quality service to both internal and public stakeholders.”
