Camden Vicinage to Celebrate Law Day

The Camden Vicinage will celebrate Law Day with an event for local high school students on Friday, May 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hall of Justice.

Tom Hagner, president of the Camden County Bar Association, will give opening remarks and an overview of the Law Day theme, “The Rule of Law and the American Dream.” Superior Court Judge Thomas Booth and Municipal Court Judge Sheila Ellington will give a presentation called “Rule of Law – A Judge’s Point of View.”

Additionally, students from schools across Camden County will participate in a poster and writing contest in which they share their meaning of this year’s theme.

The program is sponsored by the vicinage in partnership with the Camden County Bar Foundation.

Law Day is a national event established by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1958 as “a day of national dedication to the principles of government under law.”

The Hall of Justice is located at 101 S. Fifth St., Camden.
