Landlord tenant cases filed in Essex County between Jan. 1, 2023 and April 30, 2023 are being transferred to other counties in order to ease backlogs and speed case resolution. All court events for those cases will be held by videoconference, unless an in-person court event is required for a specific case.
All litigants impacted by the Supreme Court’s transfer order will receive a notice with information about where their case will be transferred. Read a copy of the notice.
